Definition of suspect
The suspect is a person whose characteristics may match those of the customers the company is looking for or owns.
However, the company has not yet sufficiently identified the individual’s intentions, interests and motivations.
For example, a suspect could be :
- An e-mail address in a list of contacts in the same line of business as the company’s current customers,
- A telephone number in a list of contacts working in the same field as the company’s current customers.
The company will need to gain more information about this suspect to understand whether he is potentially a lead, then he will become a prospect and finally he may become a customer.
