Lead definition
A lead is someone who has already shown an interest in the company, its products or services. He or she is a qualified suspect.
The company still needs to identify the individual’s intentions, interests and motivations.
A lead can, for example, be :
- A person who has taken a step such as requesting a trial of an application.
- A person who has called a company to find out more about what it offers.
He is different from the suspect in that he has already expressed an interest in the company, unlike the suspect who has not yet done so.
The company will need to gain more information about this lead in order to better communicate with it so that it becomes a potential prospect and customer.
