What is C2B?

C2B stands for Consumer to Business. It’s a type of commercial relationship in which consumers supply products, data or services to a company.

C2B is a type of business that’s the opposite of B2B and B2C.

C2B has only recently emerged, thanks in particular to consumers’ access to technology and the advent of the Internet, which enables data, information and opinions to be shared, notably via social networks.

C2B examples

Advertising and exhibition

Some consumers offer to exhibit and advertise for brands, particularly through affiliate links. This allows companies to increase their visibility and enables them to encourage consumers to push products from specific platforms rather than others, as they will be paid if they do. These include :

  • Ezoic ads
  • Google AdSense
affiliate marketing

Feedback and data

A company can send a sample or a product to a consumer. The consumer’s feedback to the company and on the Internet will be of value to the company. It will be able to improve its product and increase its exposure.

The data a company gathers when using one of its products or services is also enormously valuable, enabling it to improve its products and algorithms thanks to the consumer.
